2022 is the year we see many new events, formats and hybrid events coming out. Catering to those still not fully comfortable with attending large scale events with the looming COVID threat ever-present. You’ve probably all heard about, or even taken part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, but the team behind that event have launched The Local Landmarks 10K, a virtual event, one that like the LLHM supports baby charity Tommy’s.
The concept is simple, sign up to the event and then on Sunday 20 February 2022 lace up, get out the door and run a 10k route that you feel celebrates your local landmarks, embracing your local area and whilst doing so raising vital funds for charity.
Personally, I think it is a fantastic idea, I’ve always been interested in local history and am lucky enough to live in an area rich with history. I can’t wait to plan a route that includes as many historic sites and landmarks as possible. I will share a post about it including the history of the landmarks I include in my route, be sure to check it out.
You can sign up to this years event right here.
