Underoath are BACK! Their first album in a long eight years, and with it they have a brand spanking new video for their single ‘On My Teeth’. The track is from their soon to be released album ‘Erase Me’ being put out by Fearless records on April 6th this year. Their last album Ø (Disambiguation) was released way back in 2010 and left fans desperately wanting more.
As with almost every new album Underoath release there will be a backlash, being one of the most progressive bands constantly evolving and pushing boundaries, they win new fans but lose some of the old die-hard fans, sometimes setting off the keyboard warriors. With new track ‘On My Teeth’ this is no different, having been labelled by many as a Christian band, despite pushing that label back it still sticks, so using the word ‘FUCK‘ in their new track has caused some upset, and the keyboard warriors let loose, to which drummer Aaron Gillespie has taken to twitter to respond…
If you say “fuck” people think you’re evil these days? We got waaaaaay bigger stuff to talk about folks. Waayyy bigger

Words are words. Expletives are used to make emphasis in my opinion. If curse words offend you I’m sorry, you should stay in your safe place and not venture out into the world. People hurt, people mess up, people sometimes just need to say something like “fuck” to explain that

The last time I caught up with Underoath was way back in 2011 when they played the Koko, Camden. I was lucky enough to get some interview time with front man Spencer Chamberlain where we discussed how he felt about drummer Aaron Gillespie leaving the band, who obviously returned to the fold, we spoke about religion and much more. I remember distinctly that this was one of the best interviews I managed to do, both for answers given by Spencer but also how genuine and authentic the connection felt. You can check out the interview below…
Underoath will be hitting the UK later this year to play the following dates:
Aug 24: Reading Festival, UK
Aug 25: Leeds Festival, UK
