As your typical fitness and running obsessive, I’m not here to dabble in mediocrity. We’re going bigger, bolder, and definitely braver this year. Think time-based, distance-based, and well beyond the cozy confines of my comfort zone.
Why 2025 Is the Year of Next-Level Fitness
Because why not? I’ve spent years building a solid base. This isn’t about surviving another year of 5km-a-day runs; it’s about thriving. My fitness routine isn’t a chore—it’s my thing. And this year, it’s time to push it to new heights.
Time based Goals
5km – Under 19 Minutes
Shaving off seconds here is no joke. This means dialing in on speed intervals, focusing on explosive power, and perfecting my pacing strategy.
10km – Under 40 Minutes
A sub-40 10km is a beast of its own. It’s about combining endurance with speed and building the stamina to sustain that blistering pace.
21km (Half Marathon) – Under 85 Minutes
The 85-minute barrier isn’t just a number; it’s a mindset. This will take long runs, tempo sessions, and mental grit to lock in the rhythm.
42km (Marathon) – Under 3 Hours 15 Minutes
Sub-3:15 means relentless consistency and mastering both the physical and mental aspects of marathon running. It’s about leaving everything on the course.
Distance Based Goals
50km Ultra Marathon
Yep, it’s time to cross over into crazy territory. A 50km trail run is calling my name, and while it’s miles outside my current fitness level, that’s the point.
100km Ultra Marathon
Doubling down on the ultra game. This will test not just my endurance but also my willpower and ability to manage nutrition and pacing over long hours.
Olympic Distance Triathlon
Swimming, biking, and running—all in one event. It’s the ultimate fitness trifecta, and this year, I’m not just taking part, I’m chasing pace in it.
Other Goals
Run 5km Everyday for 2025
Keeping the streak alive! This will mark three years of running non-stop with no days off. A testament to discipline, resilience, and love for the sport.
Hyrox Mens Doubles with Ben
Partnering up for another Hyrox doubles event! This is about smashing one of the toughest fitness challenges out there, maintaining composure and beating our time from Birmingham.
